THE ROAD TO FREEDOM is an interactive multimedia CD-ROM detailing the struggles, sacrifices and the ordeals of the millions who singly and collectively fought against British imperialist tradition. The achievement of freedom was not just a few events that took a few years. Nor was it the result of a mere handful of people who sought freedom. The seeds of freedom were in fact sown hundreds of years ago when people across the land, tired of tolerating the brunt of sheer cunning and brute force unleashed methodically on them, began to assert their need for independence. To give a complete perspective to this heroic struggle, THE ROAD TO FREEDOM gives due mention to the sailing into India of Vasco da Gama, which may very well have been what motivated other European colonists to cast their eyes upon a land of riches, a land of the rajas and maharajas. To facilitate easy viewing and to do justice to such an extensive subject, the CD-ROM is set into seven major sections. Incorporating easy navigability through the story and between various sections this CD-ROM contains rare video footage of freedom fighters such as Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who rose to become the first Prime Minister of free India; of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation whose sacrifice and sense of purpose had considerable bearing on the British leaving India to Indians. The CD-ROM also contains video-footage of that brave soldier and nationalist who had the courage, charisma and strength to band together the Indian National Army against the British Subhash Chandra Bose. The CD-ROM will begin with video footage of the teeming masses rising in great numbers against the British authorities.
