Kalimannu is drama film written and directed by Blessy and starring Swetha Menon in the lead role. Inspired by the Puranic story of Abhimanyu and his mother Subhadra, the film portrays the relationship of the protagonist with her baby, before and after it is born. Swetha Menons delivery was shot live on camera for the film. Kalimannu highlights the relationship between an expecting mother and her unborn baby. It has been scientifically proved that unborn babies can feel the outside world from the fifth month of pregnancy. Blessy takes this film to honour women and to show his protest against the brutality women are facing these days.
